About the Company

HAIL Partners is working with a European Private Equity firm who are seeking a Vice President, Compensation & Benefits to join their London team. The role leads the design, governance and delivery of the firm's reward and benefits framework across a multi-jurisdictional European footprint, combining strategic reward design with hands-on delivery to ensure the offering remains market-competitive and regulatory-compliant.

About the Role

  • Design and lead the firm's compensation and benefits strategy across all jurisdictions, ensuring alignment with talent, retention and pay philosophy

  • Own the annual compensation review cycle, including salary review guidance and bonus pool allocation support, in partnership with Finance and senior leadership

  • Lead multi-jurisdictional reward projects, including pension contribution reviews across several European markets, ensuring consistent governance and implementation

  • Own the design, procurement and ongoing management of employee benefits programmes (pensions, healthcare, life assurance, wellbeing and family-building benefits)

  • Manage relationships with benefits brokers, insurers and pension providers, running periodic market reviews and renewals

  • Ensure compensation structures and processes comply with relevant remuneration codes across jurisdictions, partnering with Compliance, Risk, Legal and Tax

  • Lead participation in market benchmarking surveys and provide data-driven recommendations on pay positioning, role levelling and total reward competitiveness

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and the wider HR team on reward matters, including compensation structuring for senior hires

Requirements

  • Substantial experience in compensation & benefits, reward or total reward roles, within financial services, ideally private equity

  • Proven experience designing and managing multi-jurisdictional reward and benefits programmes across European markets

  • Strong working knowledge of pensions across multiple European frameworks

  • Experience operating within a regulated environment is highly desirable

  • CIPD and/or a reward-specific qualification (e.g. GRP or CCP) is desirable

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, practical recommendations

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with senior leadership and governance committees

  • Strong project management skills, able to lead multi-workstream projects to tight deadlines
